skanda uvāca | hitāya sarvalokānāṃ mayaitatsamanuṣṭhitam | yaddhato dānavo raudro nānyathā dvijasattamāḥ
Skanda
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas (dvija-sattamāḥ)
Scene: Skanda speaks calmly yet firmly to angry brāhmaṇas, explaining that he slew a fierce dānava for the welfare of all worlds; his spear and aura signify righteous force restrained by compassion.
Dharma may require stern action when it protects the many; the highest motive is loka-hita (the welfare of all).
It belongs to Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya (Adhyāya 71), in the narrative surrounding Raktaśṛṅga and its sacred stabilization.
No explicit rite is stated; the verse provides theological justification within the tīrtha-māhātmya frame.
