sūta uvāca | sūryavaṃśasamudbhūto bṛhadaśvasuto balī | khyātaḥ kuvalayāśveti dhaṃdhumārastathaiva saḥ
সূত বললেন—তিনি সূর্যবংশজাত, বৃহদশ্বের বলবান পুত্র; কুবলয়াশ্ব নামে খ্যাত, তিনিই ধুন্ধুমার নামে স্মৃত।
Sūta
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis
Scene: Sūta, as narrator, proclaims the king’s Solar lineage and names—Kuvalayāśva and Dhundhumāra—before an attentive assembly.
Sacred geography is often introduced through righteous lineages—kings devoted to dharma become instruments for a tīrtha’s later glory.
The verse prepares the narrative for the Camatkārapura kṣetra described in the same adhyāya.
No ritual is prescribed here; it establishes the identity and fame of the king connected to the tīrtha narrative.
