tasyāṃ yaḥ kurute śrāddhaṃ jalairapi prabhaktitaḥ | yāvaddvādaśa varṣāṇi pitarastasya tarpitāḥ
Agniveśa
Scene: A devotee offers water with cupped hands to the pitṛs under an eclipse-darkened sky; translucent ancestral figures appear satisfied, and a subtle twelve-year cycle is hinted via a ring of twelve marks around the scene.
Bhakti and sincerity can sanctify even simple offerings; the spirit of pitṛ-dharma is upheld through devotion.
No specific site is named in this verse; it emphasizes the fruit (phala) of properly timed śrāddha.
Śrāddha may be performed even with water alone (jala) when done with devoted intent, yielding long-lasting pitṛ satisfaction.
