। सूत उवाच । ततः सोऽपि महीपालः क्षुत्पिपामासमाकुलः । पपात धरणीपृष्ठे पद्भ्यां गत्वा वनांतरम्

| sūta uvāca | tataḥ so'pi mahīpālaḥ kṣutpipāmāsamākulaḥ | papāta dharaṇīpṛṣṭhe padbhyāṃ gatvā vanāṃtaram

সূত বললেন—তখন সেই পৃথিবীপাল ক্ষুধা ও তৃষ্ণায় কাতর হয়ে পায়ে হেঁটে অরণ্যের অন্তরে গেল এবং ভূমিপৃষ্ঠে লুটিয়ে পড়ল।
