জগতের আদিতে তিনি মূলপ্রকৃতি থেকে উৎপন্না—এমনই কীর্তিত। আর সিদ্ধগণ তাঁকে আরাধনা করেছিলেন বলেই তিনি ‘সিদ্ধাম্বিকা’ নামে স্মৃত।
