Sthala Purana: Colophon marking the chapter’s theme: Mahākālikā’s avatāra connected with the destruction of Madhu and Kaiṭabha; functions as textual closure rather than a local shrine legend.
Shakti Form: Kālī
Role: destructive
This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter, affirming the scripture’s structure and the specific theme: divine grace manifests as Śakti (Mahākālikā) to remove obstructive forces, reminding devotees that protection and liberation arise through Pati (Śiva) and His power.
Though not a direct Linga-instruction, the chapter-title highlights the Saguna dimension of the divine: Śiva’s power (Śakti) acts in the world to restore dharma. In Shaiva practice, this supports worship of Śiva with Śakti—seeing the Linga as the stable presence of Pati and the goddess as His dynamic grace.
Use the chapter’s theme as a sankalpa: recite the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with remembrance of Śiva-Śakti as protector, and conclude readings with a respectful colophon-style closure, cultivating śraddhā and steadiness in japa.
