तैजसी शाम्भवी मूर्त्तिः प्रत्यक्षा दहनात्मिका । कर्त्री हर्त्री पालयित्री विनैतां किं विलोक्यते

In Śaiva Siddhānta-oriented reading, Linga worship is worship of Pati (Shiva) together with His inseparable Śakti; the verse emphasizes that Shiva’s manifest grace and power are experienced through the Śāmbhavī form, making worship experiential (pratyakṣa), not merely conceptual.
Contemplate the fiery, luminous presence of Shiva-Śakti while japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and reinforce devotion with Śaiva marks like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as a reminder of dissolution and inner purification.
