बाणासुरस्य क्रोधाज्ञा तथा अन्तःपुरयुद्धारम्भः
Bāṇāsura’s Wrathful Command and the Onset of Battle at the Inner Palace
शिवभक्ते महादेवि सृष्टिस्थित्यंतकारिणी । त्वां विना रक्षको नान्यस्तस्माद्रक्ष शिवे हि माम्
śivabhakte mahādevi sṛṣṭisthityaṃtakāriṇī | tvāṃ vinā rakṣako nānyastasmādrakṣa śive hi mām
A devotee/warrior in distress (narrated within Sūta Gosvāmin’s discourse in Rudrasaṃhitā)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Mantra: śivabhakte mahādevi sṛṣṭisthityaṃtakāriṇī | tvāṃ vinā rakṣako nānyastasmādrakṣa śive hi mām
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse expresses śaraṇāgati (total surrender): the devotee recognizes Mahādevī as the active power of Pati (Śiva) who governs creation–preservation–dissolution, and seeks refuge in her compassionate protection.
It supports Saguna upāsanā: the devotee approaches the personal, gracious form of the Divine—Śiva through Śivā (Śakti). In Linga worship, this same truth is honored as the inseparable unity of Śiva–Śakti, where protection and grace flow to the worshipper.
A simple practice is protective japa with devotion—reciting “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” (Pañcākṣarī) while mentally offering fear and ego at the feet of Śiva–Śivā; optionally accompanied by Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as reminders of surrender and purity.
