The Seizure/Neutralization of Śukra (Kāvya) and the Daityas’ Despondency
tataḥ kolāhalo jātaḥ pramathāsurasainyayoḥ | tena śabdena mahatā śukraśśaṃbhūdare sthgtiḥ

The verse highlights Śiva (Śambhu) as the supreme Pati whose śakti can instantly still even powerful intellect and strategy (represented by Śukra) when adharma rises; divine sovereignty prevails over chaotic forces.
The tumult of battle contrasts with Saguna Śiva’s governing power: worship of the Liṅga trains the mind to rest in Śiva’s presence, where agitation is ‘covered’ and brought under control, just as the mighty sound checks Śukra.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to quiet inner ‘kolāhala’ (mental noise), ideally with vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as supports for steadiness and devotion.
