The Arrival of Śaṅkhacūḍa’s Envoy
and Praise of Śiva
gaccha tvaṃ śaṃkhacūḍe vai kathanīyaṃ ca me vacaḥ | sa ca yuktaṃ karotvatra surakāryaṃ karomyaham
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
It shows Śiva as Pati—the supreme governor—who orchestrates events with right discernment (yukti) to restore dharma, while remaining the effective doer for the cosmic good.
The verse highlights Saguna Śiva as the personal Lord who guides, commands, and protects the devas; such lordship is contemplated in Linga worship as the accessible form of the supreme who intervenes to uphold dharma.
A practical takeaway is disciplined japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a dharma-aligned intention—seeking clarity to act appropriately (yukta) in one’s duties.
