Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Removal of doubt (niḥsaṃśaya) through śravaṇa is a hallmark of grace: the paśu’s mala is attenuated by right understanding and devotion.
Shakti Form: Kālī
Role: teaching
It highlights śravaṇa (devotional listening) as a purifier of doubt: when sacred history is heard from an authentic source, faith in Shiva’s divine order becomes steady and the mind becomes niḥsaṃśaya (free from uncertainty).
By emphasizing trustworthy narration and clarified understanding, it supports Saguna Shiva devotion: certainty in Shiva’s līlā and grace is strengthened through hearing, which then matures into stable worship (including Linga-upāsanā) without wavering.
Regular śravaṇa and svādhyāya of the Shiva Purana—listening to or reciting chapters with devotion—so doubts dissolve and bhakti becomes firm; this can be paired with simple japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
