This verse is a stuti where the Devas recognize the Divine Mother (Durgā/Parvatī) as the embodiment of Satya (Truth). In Shaiva understanding, her truth-nature reflects the unwavering order (dharma) that leads the soul (paśu) away from bondage (pāśa) toward Shiva’s grace.
As Maheśvarī, she is inseparable from Maheśvara (Shiva). Worship of the Liṅga as Saguna Shiva is traditionally supported by devotion to Shakti, because Shakti is the manifest power through which Shiva is approached in prayer, mantra, and ritual.
The verse emphasizes satyavrata—taking a vow of truthfulness and integrity—paired with devotional stuti. As a practical takeaway, recite such praise before japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) while maintaining a sattvic discipline rooted in satya.
