द्वारपाल-गणेशसंवादः / The Dialogue at the Gate: Gaṇeśa and Śiva’s Gaṇas
ब्रह्मोवाच । अहो क्षणं स्थिता तत्र शिवेच्छावशतस्सती
brahmovāca | aho kṣaṇaṃ sthitā tatra śivecchāvaśatassatī
ব্রহ্মা বললেন—“আহা! সতী সেখানে ক্ষণমাত্রই স্থির রইলেন, শিবের ইচ্ছার অধীন হয়ে।”
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Shakti Form: Satī
It highlights Śiva-icchā (the Lord’s sovereign will) as the governing principle behind events, implying that even exalted beings act in alignment with Pati (Śiva), and spiritual maturity includes surrender to that divine ordinance.
By stressing Śiva’s active will, the verse supports Saguna devotion—worshipping Śiva as a personal Lord who guides devotees and cosmic happenings, a core attitude in Linga-centered bhakti and temple practice.
A practical takeaway is icchā-samarpaṇa (offering one’s will to Śiva): mentally dedicate actions to Śiva before japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and conclude worship by surrendering outcomes to Him.
