गणेशोत्पत्ति-प्रसङ्गः / Episode on the Origin of Gaṇeśa (Śvetakalpa Account)
एकस्मिन्नेव काले च जया च विजया सखी । पार्वत्या च मिलित्वा वै विचारे तत्पराभवत्
ekasminneva kāle ca jayā ca vijayā sakhī | pārvatyā ca militvā vai vicāre tatparābhavat
সেই সময়েই সখী জয়া ও বিজয়া পার্বতীর সঙ্গে মিলিত হয়ে চিন্তায় নিমগ্ন হল—কী করা উচিত তা বিচার করতে লাগল।
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It highlights vicāra (discerning counsel) as a supportive virtue in devotion—Pārvatī and her attendants pause to reflect before acting, aligning intention with dharma and Shiva-centered purpose.
Though the verse is narrative, it reflects the Saguna framework of the Purana where divine personalities act with deliberation; such mindful intention (saṅkalpa) is foundational to Linga worship and all Shiva-upāsanā.
A practical takeaway is to begin worship with quiet vicāra and saṅkalpa—mentally offering intent to Shiva (often alongside japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) before any external rite.
