Sukta 1.10

Rishi: Madhucchandas Vaishvamitra (traditionally for RV 1.10)

Chandas: Trishtubh (11-syllable pādas; common for Indra hymns)

नहि त्वा रोदसी उभे ऋघायमाणमिन्वतः । जेषः स्वर्वतीरपः सं गा अस्मभ्यं धूनुहि ॥

náhi tvā́ rodasī ubhé ṛ́ghāyámāṇam ínvataḥ | jeṣáḥ svàr-vatīr apáḥ sám gā́ asmábhyaṃ dhūnuhi ||

কারণ তুমি যখন উগ্র বেগে অগ্রসর হও, তখন উভয় রোদসী (দ্যৌ ও পৃথিবী)ও তোমাকে নিবৃত্ত করিতে পারে না। হে জেষঃ (বিজয়ী)! স্বর্বতীঃ অপঃ (স্বর-ধারিণী জলধারা) এবং গাঃ (গাভী/আলোক-কিরণ)—এই দুইকে আমাদের জন্য একত্রে ঝরাইয়া দাও।
