ताटकावृत्तान्तः
The Account of Tāṭakā and the Royal Duty to Protect
ददौ नागसहस्रस्य बलं चास्या: पितामह:।नत्वेव पुत्रं यक्षाय ददौ ब्रह्मा महायशा:।।।।
dadau nāgasahasrasya balaṃ cāsyāḥ pitāmahaḥ |
na tv eva putraṃ yakṣāya dadau brahmā mahāyaśāḥ ||
মহাযশস্বী পিতামহ ব্রহ্মা তাকে সহস্র গজের সমান বল দান করলেন; কিন্তু সেই যক্ষকে পুত্র দান করলেন না॥
The illustrious grandsire Brahma granted her the strength of a thousand elephants,but did not bestow a son on the yaksha.
