Proud of their strength, the two wicked demons have been noosed by Yama, the god of death. O tiger among kings! they are no match for the magnanimous Rama.
Royal dharma is presented as consistency between lineage, training, and conduct: a king shaped by Vasiṣṭha’s guidance must act in a manner worthy of that moral formation.
Viśvāmitra addresses Daśaratha, framing the king’s (hesitant) response as still understandable and ‘in character’ for a righteous monarch trained by Vasiṣṭha.
Maryādā (propriety) and cultivated restraint—behavior aligned with noble lineage and guru-instruction.
