gayāśirasi yaḥ piṃḍaṃ śamīpatrapramāṇataḥ | kaṃdamūlaphalādyairvā dadyātsvargaṃ nayetpitṝn || 48 ||

গয়াশিরে যে শমীপত্র-পরিমাণ পিণ্ড—অথবা কন্দ, মূল, ফল প্রভৃতি দিয়েও—শ্রদ্ধায় অর্পণ করে, সে পিতৃগণকে স্বর্গলোকে নিয়ে যায়।
