It elevates Gaṅgā-jala tarpana from mere ancestral rite to a mokṣa-oriented act, stating that even heavenly Pitṛs can reach liberation when duly satisfied with Gaṅgā-water offerings as per scriptural injunction.
By highlighting Gaṅgā as a sacred tirtha whose waters are revered in Vaiṣṇava-Paurāṇic devotion, the verse implies that faith-filled, rule-based offerings (tarpana) performed with sanctified substances support the soul’s highest aim—mokṣa.
It points to Kalpa (ritual procedure): performing tarpana according to vidhi (injunction), using prescribed sacred water (Gaṅgā-jala) and the correct intent to satisfy Pitṛs and secure the stated spiritual fruit.
