FAQs

The verse frames Purāṇic teaching as a salvific remedy: it promises a specific “fruit” praised in the Purāṇas that can uplift beings entangled in aśubha-karma and sinking in saṃsāra (bhavārṇava).

While bhakti is not named explicitly here, the verse sets up the Purāṇic “phala” as a means of rescue for fallen beings—typically fulfilled in the Narada Purana through hearing (śravaṇa), chanting (kīrtana), and devotion to Hari/Vishnu as the saving power from bhavārṇava.

No specific Vedāṅga (like Śikṣā, Vyākaraṇa, or Jyotiṣa) is taught in this verse; the practical takeaway is the Purāṇic principle of phala-śruti—stating the concrete spiritual result of a teaching or practice for motivating dharmic conduct.
