vāmadeva uvāca | purā tvamavanīpāla śūdrajātisamudbhavaḥ | dāridryeṇa parābhūto duṣṭayā bhāryayā tathā || 2 ||
Vāmadeva
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It frames present status and suffering as results of prior conditions and karma, setting up a moral lesson on transformation through dharma and right conduct.
While bhakti is not named in this verse, it establishes a contrast between worldly affliction (poverty, domestic misery) and the later possibility of upliftment typically achieved in Purāṇic narratives through devotion, vows, and righteous living.
No explicit Vedāṅga topic is taught in this verse; it functions as narrative groundwork for ethical instruction rather than grammar, astrology, or ritual procedure.
