पठका: पाठकाश्ैव ये चान्ये शास्त्रचिन्तका: । सर्वे व्यसनिनो मूर्खा यः क्रियावान् स पण्डित:
paṭhakāḥ pāṭhakāś caiva ye cānye śāstra-cintakāḥ | sarve vyasanino mūrkhā yaḥ kriyāvān sa paṇḍitaḥ ||
যারা কেবল পড়ে, যারা পড়ায়, আর যারা শুধু শাস্ত্র নিয়ে তর্ক-বিচার করে—কর্মে না নামলে তারা সকলেই আসক্ত ও মূর্খ। প্রকৃত পণ্ডিত সেই, যে শাস্ত্রবিধি অনুযায়ী কর্তব্যকর্মে নিবিষ্ট।
