Sanatsujāta-Āhvāna (Summoning Sanatsujāta) — Vidura’s Invocation and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Doubt
कर्मोदये कर्मफलानुरागा- स्तत्रानुयान्ति न तरन्ति मृत्युम् । सदर्थयोगानवगमात् समन्तात् प्रवर्तते भोगयोगेन देही
karmodaye karmaphalānurāgās tatrānuyānti na taranti mṛtyum | sadarthayogān avagamāt samantāt pravartate bhogayogena dehī ||
সনৎসুজাত বলেন—প্রারব্ধ কর্ম উদিত হলে যারা কর্মফলে আসক্ত থাকে, তারা দেহ ত্যাগ করে পরলোকের গতিপথ অনুসরণ করে; তাই তারা মৃত্যুকে অতিক্রম করতে পারে না। পরম কল্যাণের সাধনা—আত্মসাক্ষাৎকারের উপায়—না জানার ফলে দেহাভিমানী জীব বিষয়ভোগের টানে সর্বদিকে ঘুরে বেড়ায়, নানা যোনিতে ভ্রমণ করে।
