चित्राभरणवर्मोर्मि: शस्त्रनिर्मलफेनवान् । प्रासादमालाद्रविवृतो रथ्यापणमहाह्नद:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | citrābharaṇa-varmormiḥ śastra-nirmala-phenavān | prāsāda-mālā-dravi-vṛto rathyāpaṇa-mahā-hradaḥ ||
যোদ্ধাদের বিচিত্র অলংকার ও বর্ম যেন তার উঠতে থাকা তরঙ্গ, আর ঝকঝকে অস্ত্রগুলি নির্মল ফেনার মতো দীপ্ত। প্রাসাদশ্রেণি তটবর্তী পর্বতমালার মতো, আর রাজপথের ধারের দোকানগুলি যেন গুহা—বা বৃহৎ হ্রদের তীর—প্রতীয়মান হল। এইভাবে, হে রাজন, চন্দ্রোদয়ের সময় সমুদ্রের ন্যায় দুর্যোধনের চারপাশের নগরদৃশ্য সৈন্যসমুদ্রে স্ফীত হয়ে মনোহর হলেও ভীতির কারণ হয়ে উঠল।
