Cows and Ghee as Supreme Purifiers
असुर्या नाम ते लोका गां दत्त्वा तानू न गच्छति । पीतोदकां जग्धतृणां नष्टक्षीरां निरिन्द्रियाम्
bhīṣma uvāca | asuryā nāma te lokā gāṁ dattvā tānū na gacchati | pītodakāṁ jagdhatṛṇāṁ naṣṭakṣīrāṁ nirindriyām |
‘অসুর্যা’ নামে যে অন্ধকারময় লোকসমূহ আছে, যথাযথ গোদানকারী সেখানে যায় না। কিন্তু যার জল কেড়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে, যার ঘাস-খাদ্য নিঃশেষ করা হয়েছে, যার দুধ নষ্ট, এবং যার ইন্দ্রিয়-শক্তি লুপ্ত—এমন গাভী দান করলে দাতা ব্রাহ্মণকে অনর্থক কষ্ট দেয় এবং নিজেও ভয়ংকর নরকে পতিত হয়।
