न चैतेभ्य: प्रदातव्या न वोढव्या तथाविधा । न होव भार्या क्रेतव्या न विक्रय्या कथंचन
na caitebhyaḥ pradātavyā na voḍhavyā tathāvidhā | naiva bhāryā kretavyā na vikrayyā kathaṃcana ||
এমন লোকদের কাছে কন্যা দেওয়া উচিত নয়, আর যে কন্যাকে এভাবে ‘বিক্রি’ করা হচ্ছে, তার সঙ্গে বিবাহও করা উচিত নয়; কারণ স্ত্রী কোনো অবস্থাতেই কেনা-বেচার বস্তু নয়।
