सहस्रचित्यो: राजर्षि: प्राणानिष्टान् महायशा: । ब्राह्मणार्थे परित्यज्य गतो लोकाननुच्तमान्
sahasracityo rājārṣiḥ prāṇān iṣṭān mahāyaśāḥ | brāhmaṇārthe parityajya gato lokān anuttamān ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন— মহাযশস্বী রাজর্ষি সহস্রচিত্য এক ব্রাহ্মণের কল্যাণার্থে নিজের প্রিয় প্রাণ পর্যন্ত ত্যাগ করে অতুলনীয় লোকসমূহ লাভ করেছিলেন।
