Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: On the Superiority of Giving
Maitreya–Vyāsa Exemplum
गुप्त शरणमाश्रित्य भयेषु शरणागता: । अकस्मात् ते मया त्यक्ता न त्राता अभयैषिण:
gupta-śaraṇam āśritya bhayeṣu śaraṇāgatāḥ | akasmāt te mayā tyaktā na trātā abhayaiṣiṇaḥ ||
ভয়ের সময় নিরাপত্তার আশায় বহু শরণার্থী আমার কাছে আসত। আমি তাদের গোপন নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ে পৌঁছে দিয়েও হঠাৎ সেখান থেকে তাড়িয়ে দিতাম; আশ্রয়প্রার্থীদের রক্ষা করতাম না।
