Sukta 5
अजो वा इदमग्ने व्यऽक्रमत तस्योर इयमभवद् द्यौः पृष्ठम्। अन्तरिक्षं मध्यं दिशः पार्श्वे समुद्रौ कुक्षी
ajó vá idám agne ví ’kramata tásyorá iyám abhavad dyáuḥ pṛṣṭhám | antárikṣaṃ mádhyaṃ díśaḥ pārśvé samudráu kúḳṣī ||
Aja, verily, O Agni, strode forth and pervaded this (All): of him this became the breast; heaven the back; the mid-air the middle; the quarters the sides; the two seas the two bellies.
হে অগ্নি, অজ (Aja) সত্যই অগ্রসর হয়ে এই (সমস্ত) জগৎকে ব্যাপ্ত করল। তারই বক্ষ এই হলো; দ্যৌ (স্বর্গ) হলো পিঠ; অন্তরিক্ষ হলো মধ্য; দিকসমূহ হলো পার্শ্ব; আর দুই সমুদ্র হলো তার দুই উদর।
