Sukta 4
ब्राह्मणेभ्य ऋषभं दत्त्वा वरीयः कृणुते मनः । पुष्टिं सो अघ्न्यानां स्वे गोष्ठेऽव पश्यते
brāhmaṇébhya ṛṣabháṁ datvā́ varī́yaḥ kṛṇute mánaḥ | púṣṭiṁ só aghnyā́nāṁ své goṣṭhé’va páśyate ||
Giving the Bull unto the Brahmans, he maketh his mind the more excellent; and thriving of the inviolable kine he plainly sees within his own cowshed.
ব্রাহ্মণদের কাছে ঋষভ (বৃষভ) দান করে সে নিজের মনকে আরও উৎকৃষ্ট করে তোলে। আর নিজেরই গোশালায় সে অঘ্ন্যা—অবধ্য, পবিত্র গাভীদের পুষ্টি-সমৃদ্ধি স্পষ্টভাবে দেখে।
