এই তিন ঋচাবিশিষ্ট আথর্বণিক সূক্তটি একটি সংক্ষিপ্ত বিজয়-মন্ত্র; এতে ঘোষণা করা হয় যে “বিজয়” বীর, যজ্ঞ এবং প্রধান ঋতুশক্তি—অগ্নি, সোম ও ইন্দ্র—এর অন্তর্নিহিত গুণ, এবং এই ঘোষণার মাধ্যমে যুদ্ধসাফল্যকে পবিত্র করা হয়। এটি ক্ষাত্র (সার্বভৌম/যোদ্ধা-শক্তি) দৃঢ় করে, সহচরদের নেতার সঙ্গে আবদ্ধ করে, এবং মঙ্গলময় মাধুর্য ও যথাযথ আহুতির দ্বারা নিরৃতি (দুর্ভাগ্য/ধ্বংস)কে দূরে ঠেলে দেয়—এমনকি কৃত অপরাধের কলুষও দূর করে।

বিজয়ী বীর; বিজয়ী যজ্ঞ; বিজয়ী অগ্নি; বিজয়ী সোম; বিজয়ী ইন্দ্র। সকল যুদ্ধের বিরুদ্ধে আমিও যেন এভাবেই বিজয়ী হই; আর আমরা বিধিপূর্বক অগ্নিহোত্র সম্পাদন করি—এই হবি (আহুতি)।

হে প্রজ্ঞাবান মিত্র-বরুণ! স্বধা তোমাদের সঙ্গে থাকুক। মধুরতায় এখানে প্রজাসম্পন্ন ক্ষত্রশক্তিকে পুষ্ট করো। নিরৃতিকে দূরে, পশ্চাতে, বহু দূরে তাড়িয়ে দাও; কৃত পাপও আমাদের থেকে মুক্ত করো।
