निरिमां मात्रां मिमीमहे यथापरं न मासातै । शते शरत्सु नो पुरा

IAST Transliteration

nírīmā́ṃ mā́trāṃ mimīmahe yáthā́paraṃ ná mā́sātai | śaté śáratsu no purā́

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Out this measure we do mete, that it be not thereafter spent in months: a hundred autumns—so for us, as in the days of old.

Translation

আমরা এই মাত্রাটিকে বাইরে দিকে মেপে নিই, যাতে পরে তা মাসে মাসে ক্ষয় না হয়ে যায়। আমাদের জন্য—যেমন প্রাচীন কালে—শত শরৎ ঋতু হোক।
