Related Themes: Agni Purana 259 (Rudra-mantra, śānti-prayoga context)
It teaches a Rudra-mantra prayoga used as a śānti (pacificatory) measure—invoked to avert ‘upadravas’ (calamities) and, contextually, to induce timely rainfall.
Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied ritual technology—mantras and their stated effects—functioning like a practical handbook for protection rites and community welfare (e.g., rain and disaster-aversion).
By offering reverence to Rudra and employing the mantra as śānti, the practitioner seeks purification and the pacification of hostile forces, aligning personal and communal karma toward safety and auspiciousness.
