Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Stotra","secondary_vidya":"Philosophy","practical_application":"Continuous Vāsudeva-smṛti as a soteriological practice promising both bhukti (worldly well-being) and mukti (liberation), applicable in any circumstance (earth/sky).","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Definition","entry_title":"Vāsudeva-smaraṇa as giver of bhukti and mukti","lookup_keywords":["Vāsudeva","Garudadhvaja","bhukti","mukti","smaraṇa"],"quick_summary":"Uninterrupted remembrance of Vāsudeva (Garuḍa-bannered Viṣṇu) is taught as a single practice yielding both prosperity and liberation, independent of place or condition."}

Alamkara Type: Vyatireka/atishaya-like universality (bhūmau tathā vyomni) emphasizing all-conditions applicability

Concept: Smaraṇa-bhakti as a direct means that integrates artha/kāma support (bhukti) with mokṣa (mukti).

Application: Adopt nāma-smaraṇa as a constant inner practice during travel, work, danger, or solitude; treat it as both worldly support and final refuge.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi / Vishnu-smriti (Devotional Remembrance and Liberation Teaching)

Primary Rasa: Shanta

Secondary Rasa: Bhakti

Type: Cosmic domains

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A devotee remembering Vāsudeva in all situations—standing on earth and symbolically in the sky—while Viṣṇu appears with Garuḍa-banner, granting both prosperity and liberation.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural: Vāsudeva with Garuḍa-dhvaja, radiant aura; below, a devotee in two registers—on earth and amid clouds—hands in añjali, continuous japa indicated by rosary, traditional flat colors and ornate motifs.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore: central Garuḍadhvaja Vāsudeva with heavy gold halo; side motifs of bhukti (prosperity symbols like grains/coins) and mukti (lotus/parama-pada icon), rich jewel tones.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore: didactic composition showing 'bhūmau' and 'vyomni' panels with the same devotee doing smaraṇa; Vāsudeva above with Garuḍa emblem clearly rendered, fine lines and soft shading.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature: a traveler on a road and a figure on a terrace under open sky, both contemplating; in the upper sky a subtle Viṣṇu with Garuḍa-banner appears, delicate detailing and landscape depth."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: वासुदेवञ्च = वासुदेवम् + च (m→ñ before c). भुक्तिमुक्तिभाक् analyzed as dvandva (भुक्ति-मुक्ति) + ‘भाक्’ (from √भाज्, ‘one who partakes’).

FAQs

It teaches the practical upāya of continuous smaraṇa (recollection) of Vāsudeva/Viṣṇu—an always-available devotional discipline not restricted by place (earth or sky) that yields spiritual and worldly results.

Alongside its many technical domains, the Agni Purāṇa also systematizes bhakti-based sādhanā; this verse functions as a concise doctrine of remembrance (smaraṇa) and its phala (bhukti + mukti), integrating theology with practice.

Constant remembrance of Garuḍadhvaja Vāsudeva is presented as purifying and merit-producing, culminating not only in auspicious worldly fruition (bhukti) but also in final release (mukti).
