Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Chandas-shastra (Prosody and Vedic meter classification)","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Guides assignment of devatā section-wise and identifies Anuṣṭubh meter for remaining portions—useful for correct segmentation in recitation and viniyoga.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Section-wise devatā assignment; residual portions in Anuṣṭubh","lookup_keywords":["pṛthak devatāḥ","Anuṣṭubh chandas","viniyoga","Puruvid-aṅga","deity assignment"],"quick_summary":"Assign deities separately for each part; where a specific section’s deity is stated, follow it, and for remaining deity-assignments the meter is Anuṣṭubh."}

Concept: Mantra efficacy is supported by correct structural attribution (devatā and chandas) part-by-part, not only at hymn level.

Application: When a text has multiple sub-sections, do not force a single devatā; assign individually and default remaining portions to the stated meter (here, Anuṣṭubh).

Khanda Section: Chandas-shastra (Prosody and Vedic meter classification)

Primary Rasa: śānta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A segmented hymn diagram: each section labeled with its own devatā, while the remaining segments are bracketed and marked ‘Anuṣṭubh’.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, stylized manuscript with compartmentalized panels, each panel bearing a devatā symbol, remaining panels stamped ‘Anuṣṭubh’, traditional classroom setting","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore style, gold-embossed section dividers on a manuscript, icons representing different deities above each segment, ‘Anuṣṭubh’ highlighted in ornate cartouche","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, clean instructional chart of mantra sections, fine calligraphy labels for devatā and meter, teacher demonstrating segmentation","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, scholar drawing a grid on paper assigning deities to sections, marginal note ‘Anuṣṭubh’ for residual parts, refined detail"}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Kalyani","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: छन्दो ऽनुष्टुवुदाहृतं = छन्दः + अनुष्टुप् + उदाहृतम् (विसर्गः + अ → ओऽ; प् + उ → वु लेखन-रूपेण).

FAQs

It teaches a chandas-vidyā style mapping: deities are assigned distinctly for each section, and where unspecified/remaining, the governing meter to be used/recognized is Anuṣṭubh.

By cataloging prosodic rules (chandas) alongside deity correspondences, it shows the text’s coverage of technical Sanskrit disciplines used in mantra, recitation, and ritual organization.

Correctly pairing meter and presiding deity supports accurate mantra-recitation and ritual precision, traditionally held to preserve efficacy (siddhi) and avoid ritual error (doṣa).
