FAQs

It prescribes practical requirements for mantra-siddhi: suitable havis/naivedya (yavāgū, pūpa, or milk) and performing japa according to the mantra’s deity-specific schedule on tithi and weekday (vāra).

It exemplifies the text’s ritual-technology side—linking offerings (havis), calendrical science (tithi-vāra), and deity-centered mantra discipline—showing how the Purana functions as a manual of applied religious procedure.

Aligning japa with the proper deity, time (tithi-vāra), and pure offerings is presented as a means to remove obstacles, purify the practitioner, and make the mantra efficacious, culminating in siddhi (successful fruition of the practice).
