FAQs

It teaches an Ayurvedic therapeutic formula: preparing a kvātha (decoction) of specified herbs, processing it by boiling in mūtra, and administering it with honey as the vehicle to treat throat disorders.

Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves practical applied sciences; here it records a concrete Ayurvedic recipe (drug list, preparation medium, and anupāna), showing its wide-ranging compendium of medical knowledge.

In the Purāṇic frame, preserving health supports dharma and ritual capacity; curing throat disease safeguards speech and recitation (mantra, śāstra-study), thereby sustaining meritorious religious practice.
