Related Themes: Agni Purana 282 (Pāṇḍu/Kāmala remedies)
Ayurvedic therapeutics: it prescribes a specific herbal decoction (kvātha) of Triphalā, Guḍūcī, Vāsā, and bitter Bhūnimba, administered with honey, for treating pāṇḍu (anemia-like disorder) and kāmala (jaundice).
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond mythology—preserving applied medical formulations (drug selection, dosage form, adjuvant like honey) alongside its ritual, cosmological, and dharma materials.
While primarily medical, such prescriptions reflect the Purāṇic ideal of dharma through protection of life and health—supporting bodily well-being as a foundation for daily duties, worship, and disciplined conduct.
