यत्र सुप्तो न कञ्चन कामं कामयते न कञ्चन स्वप्नं पश्यति तत् सुषुप्तम् । सुषुप्तस्थान एकीभूतः प्रज्ञानघन एवानन्दमयो ह्यानन्दभुक् चेतोमुखः प्राज्ञस्तृतीयः पादः ॥५॥

yatra supto na kañcana kāmaṃ kāmayate na kañcana svapnaṃ paśyati tat suṣuptam | suṣuptasthāna ekībhūtaḥ prajñānaghana evānandamayo hyānandabhuk cetomukhaḥ prājñas tṛtīyaḥ pādaḥ ||5||
য’ত শুই থকা জনে কোনো কামনাকেই কামনা নকৰে আৰু কোনো স্বপ্নো নেদেখে, সেয়াই সুষুপ্তি। সুষুপ্তিস্থানত একীভূত, প্ৰজ্ঞানঘন, আনন্দময়, আনন্দভোক্তা, আৰু চেতস (মন) যাৰ মুখ—সেই প্ৰাজ্ঞ তৃতীয় পাদ।
That is deep sleep (suṣupta) wherein, having fallen asleep, one does not desire any desire whatsoever and does not see any dream whatsoever. The third quarter is Prājña, whose sphere is deep sleep, who is unified, a mass of consciousness, indeed made of bliss, an enjoyer of bliss, and whose ‘mouth’ is mind (cetas).
