Mandukya Upanishad 11 — Verse 11

suṣuptasthānaḥ prājño makāras tṛtīyā mātrā miter apīter vā minoti ha vā idaṃ sarvam apītiś ca bhavati ya evaṃ veda ||11||

The Prājña, whose sphere is deep sleep, is the letter M, the third mora. Because of measure (miti), or because of absorption (apīti), he indeed measures (or comprehends) all this; and he becomes the absorption (dissolution)—whoever thus knows.

Prājña (deep-sleep self), laya/absorption, ‘measure’ (miti) and dissolution (apīti) as aspects of Oṃ’s M-mātrāMahavakya: Supports ‘Ayam Ātmā Brahma’ by showing that even the causal, undifferentiated deep-sleep condition is a mode of Ātman; yet it remains a ‘mātrā’ to be transcended toward Turīya.AtharvaAtharva-veda (traditionally associated with the Atharvaṇic corpus; specific śākhā not securely attested for Māṇḍūkya) ShakhaChandas: Prose
