Verse 21

Brahmavidya

नभस्थं निष्कलं ध्यात्वा मुच्यते भवबन्धनात्। अनाहतध्वनियुतं हंसं यो वेद हृद्गतम्॥ स्वप्रकाशचिदानन्दं स हंस इति गीयते। रेचकं पूरकं मुक्त्वा कुम्भकेन स्थितः सुधीः॥ नाभिकन्दे समौ कृत्वा प्राणापानौ समाहितः। मस्तकस्थामृतास्वादं पीत्वा ध्यानेन सादरम्॥ दीपाकारं महादेवं ज्वलन्तं नाभिमध्यमे। अभिषिच्यामृतेनैव हंस हंसेति यो जपेत्॥ जरामरणरोगादि न तस्य भुवि विद्यते। एवं दिने दिने कुर्यादणिमादिविभूतये॥

नभः-स्थम् । निष्कलम् । ध्यात्वा । मुच्यते । भव-बन्धनात् । अनाहत-ध्वनि-युतम् । हंसम् । यः । वेद । हृत्-गतम् ॥ स्व-प्रकाश-चित्-आनन्दम् । सः । हंसः । इति । गीयते । रेचकम् । पूरकम् । मुक्त्वा । कुम्भकेन । स्थितः । सुधीः ॥ नाभि-कन्दे । समौ । कृत्वा । प्राण-अपानौ । समाहितः । मस्तक-स्थ । अमृत-आस्वादम् । पीत्वा । ध्यानेन । स-आदरम् ॥ दीप-आकारम् । महा-देवम् । ज्वलन्तम् । नाभि-मध्यमे । अभिषिच्य । अमृतेन । एव । हंस । हंस । इति । यः । जपेत् ॥ जरा-मरण-रोग-आदि । न । तस्य । भुवि । विद्यते । एवम् । दिने । दिने । कुर्यात् । अणिमा-आदि-विभूतये ॥

nabhasthaṃ niṣkalaṃ dhyātvā mucyate bhavabandhanāt | anāhatadhvaniyutaṃ haṃsaṃ yo veda hṛdgatam || svaprakāśacidānandaṃ sa haṃsa iti gīyate | recakaṃ pūrakaṃ muktvā kumbhakena sthitaḥ sudhīḥ || nābhikande samau kṛtvā prāṇāpānau samāhitaḥ | mastakasthāmṛtāsvādaṃ pītvā dhyānena sādaram || dīpākāraṃ mahādevaṃ jvalantaṃ nābhimadhyame | abhiṣicyāmṛtenaiva haṃsa haṃseti yo japet || jarāmaraṇarogādi na tasya bhuvi vidyate | evaṃ dine dine kuryād aṇimādivibhūtaye ||

আকাশত অৱস্থিত নিষ্কল পৰব্ৰহ্মক ধ্যান কৰিলে ভববন্ধনৰ পৰা মুক্তি লাভ হয়। অনাহত ধ্বনিযুক্ত আৰু হৃদয়ত নিবাস কৰা হংসক যিয়ে জানে—সেই হংস স্বপ্ৰকাশ চিত্-আনন্দস্বৰূপ বুলি গীত হয়। ৰেচক-পূৰক ত্যাগ কৰি সুধী কুম্ভকত স্থিৰ থাকে। নাভিকন্দত প্ৰাণ-অপান সম কৰি একাগ্ৰ হৈ, মস্তকস্থ অমৃতৰসৰ আস্বাদ আদৰসহ ধ্যানৰে পান কৰে। নাভিমধ্যত দীপাকাৰ জ্বলন্ত মহাদেৱক ধ্যান কৰি, অমৃতাভিষেক যেন ‘হংস হংস’ জপ কৰা জনৰ পৃথিৱীত জৰা-মৰণ-ৰোগাদি নাথাকে। এইদৰে দিনে দিনে কৰিলে অণিমাদি বিভূতি লাভ হয়।

Having meditated on the partless (niṣkala) One abiding in the sky/space, one is released from the bondage of becoming. Whoever knows the Haṃsa, endowed with the unstruck sound (anāhata-dhvani) and dwelling in the heart—He is sung as self-luminous consciousness-bliss. Abandoning exhalation and inhalation, the wise one remains in retention (kumbhaka). Making prāṇa and apāna equal at the navel-bulb, concentrated, he drinks with reverent meditation the taste of nectar situated in the head. (He contemplates) the great Deva, flame-like, blazing in the middle of the navel; and, as if anointing with nectar, whoever repeats ‘haṃsa, haṃsa’—for him on earth there is no old age, death, disease, and the like. Thus, day by day, one should do (this) for the attainment of powers beginning with minuteness (aṇimā).
