Vaiśravaṇa (Kubera) (deduced from immediate context of boons granted to him in following verse)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A celestial assembly in svarga—Brahmā, Indra, and Rudra among devas—offering flowers and incense to Śiva; in the foreground, a human devotee mirrors them with japa-mālā and folded hands, emphasizing ‘as above, so below’.
True refuge (śaraṇāgati) is expressed through praise, bowing, and japa directed to Śiva, the supreme object of reverence even for the gods.
The broader setting is Prabhāsakṣetra (Somnāth/Prabhāsa region), within the Nyaṅkumatī Māhātmya narrative.
Japa (repetition of Śiva’s name) and stuti/namaskāra (praise and bowing) are presented as devotional acts of surrender.
