ईश्वर उवाच । ततो गच्छेन्महादेवि यत्र जांबवती नदी । पुरा जांबवतीनाम विष्णोर्या महिषीप्रिया । अपृच्छदर्जुनं साध्वी वद वार्तां कुरू द्वह
īśvara uvāca | tato gacchenmahādevi yatra jāṃbavatī nadī | purā jāṃbavatīnāma viṣṇoryā mahiṣīpriyā | apṛcchadarjunaṃ sādhvī vada vārtāṃ kurū dvaha
ঈশ্বৰ ক’লে: “তাৰ পাছত, হে মহাদেৱী, য’ত জাঁবৱতী নদী বৈ যায়, সেই ঠাইলৈ যাব লাগে। পূৰ্বে ‘জাঁবৱতী’ নামৰ সতী—বিষ্ণুৰ প্ৰিয় মহিষী—অৰ্জুনক সুধিছিল: ‘খবৰ ক’বা; সত্যকৈ, একো নলুকুৱাই বৰ্ণনা কৰা।’”
