Skanda (deduced from Nāgarakhaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya didactic context)
Scene: A pilgrim-ascetic at a monsoon-season tīrtha, turning away from a heap of coins offered by temptation; in the background a calm shrine and rain-laden clouds, symbolizing Cāturmāsya discipline.
Greed is a seat of sin; renounce it and use tapas—especially in Cāturmāsya—to win inner purity.
The verse does not name a site; it frames the moral discipline that makes tīrtha observances spiritually effective.
Austerity (tapas) during Cāturmāsya is recommended as the special means to conquer greed.
