Narrator (contextual; within the Nāgarakhaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya dialogue)
Tirtha: Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim couple arrives at a Śaiva kṣetra; the Hāṭakeśvara-liṅga stands beneath a sacred tree or shrine canopy; the male devotee, radiant with joy, begins long austerities—seated in padmāsana, matted hair, rosary, with offerings at the liṅga.
Pilgrimage to a Śiva-kṣetra and sustained tapas at the liṅga are portrayed as direct means to spiritual uplift and divine favor.
Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra and its Śiva-liṅga are explicitly glorified.
Tapas (austerity/penance) at the Hāṭakeśvara-liṅga is the featured practice.
