ভাৰতী (সৰস্বতী) তৰা-সদৃশ লিঙ্গৰ পূজা কৰি তাৰ নাম ‘লোকত্রয়াশ্ৰিত’—তিনিও লোকৰ আশ্ৰয়—বুলিলে। আৰু শনি সঙ্গমৰ ঘূৰ্ণি (সঙ্গমাৱর্ত) ত লিঙ্গ আৰাধনা কৰি তাৰ নাম ‘জগন্নাথ’—বিশ্বৰ নাথ—বুলিলে।
