Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra (sandhyā-ācāra)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Twilight at a Kāśī ghāṭ: pilgrims pause for sandhyā rites; a small fire/lamp is tended respectfully; a devotee refrains from eating, hands joined, while animals and people are treated gently in the scene.
Dharma is expressed through reverence, non-violence, and honoring liminal sacred times like sandhyā with restraint.
The verse is part of Kāśīkhaṇḍa’s Kāśī-centered teaching on how to live worthily in the holy city.
Avoid eating at dawn and dusk (the two sandhyās); uphold ahiṃsā and maintain cleanliness in handling objects and fire.
