Skanda (narrating to Agastya, context of Kāśīkhaṇḍa)
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Scene: Heaps of mine-refined gems of many kinds, assorted valuables, and large herds of cattle are shown as part of the household’s prosperity, presented to the son as his share/responsibility.
Material abundance is acknowledged, but in Purāṇic dharma it is to be governed by right conduct and later redirected toward higher aims.
The Kāśīkhaṇḍa context glorifies Kāśī overall; this verse itself is descriptive of wealth, not a tīrtha.
No explicit ritual; however, such descriptions often serve as background for later teachings on charity (dāna) and devotion.
