It teaches that approach to Śiva begins with inner and outer purity—performing cleansing observances within one’s capacity—and then establishing a stable, auspicious seat, symbolizing steadiness of mind for devotion and contemplation of Pati (Śiva).
It outlines the foundational pūjā-sequence for Saguna worship: purification (snāna and preliminaries), then approaching the sanctified place and preparing an āsana before offering worship to Parameśvara, commonly in the form of the Śiva-liṅga.
Perform snāna and basic preparatory rites as able, then sit on a clean āsana in a proper worship space; this supports japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and focused pūjā with steadiness.
