Vayu
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: General siddhānta teaching: contemplation of Pati as paśu-pāśa-vimocaka is held to conduce to mumukṣutva and receptivity to grace.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It states the Shaiva Siddhanta core: Shiva is Pati (Supreme Lord), the universe’s maker, and the grace-bestowing Liberator who removes pāśa (bondage) from paśu (the individual soul), leading to moksha.
By calling Shiva the Lord and Liberator, it supports Saguna worship—especially Linga-upasana—as a concrete means to approach Pati and receive His anugraha (grace) that cuts the soul’s bondage.
Contemplate Shiva as “paśu-pāśa-vimocanaḥ” while doing japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and Linga worship; the practice is oriented toward inner release from bondage through devotion and surrender.
